The client will email the credit memo details to accounting@ email box. This must include the following
Customer Name
Invoice # to apply to
Product ID, qty & price
Reason for credit
Once the information is received, log in to CW.

Creating Credit Memo Invoices: Go to Finance>Special Invoices and follow the steps below.
Select the Company
Invoice Type should be Credit Memo
In Reference Field put :"Credit (Invoice number that it will be applied to)
Copy the Credit Reason and paste it in the Top Comment
If the credit is for service enter the credit amount as negative amount in the Credit Memo Total section and follow through with Image 1. If the credit is for a product, follow the same steps except “E” and proceed on Image 2.
Save the credit memo. This will enable CW to generate the credit memo number
Edit the credit memo number to add “CM” in the end of the number.
Note that some customer might prefer to have the same credit memo number as the invoice number to credit. In that case, you can edit the credit memo number right before you click save.

After saving the invoice, open the product tab
Add the product as a negative amount, make sure to check the taxable option. If the invoice we are crediting had tax make sure check box. If this product was not taxed in previous invoice, the leave taxable box unchecked.
Add a negative product for any shipping product lines.
Sending Invoice: Go to Finance>Invoice Search and follow the steps below.
Click Save.
Open My invoices>find Credit Memo invoice
Change billing status to review
Route forward for approval
Once approved Go to Invoice Batch Emailing screen>select credit memo > hit "Send Now">prompt box will appear>click Ok.
Note: ConnectBosster can't send a Zero amount & Negative amount invoice (credit memo) so you will need to send this kind of invoice from ConnectWise.
5. Batching Invoices to QBO: Go to Finance>Invoice Search
Log in to Mobius and go to Create Invoice Batch.
Select the invoices you’re processing and click Submit. Note: It will direct you to a progress screen, make sure it will be completed successfully. If not, look for the error message and create an asana task for the BOSS team to resolve
6. Applying Credit Memo in QBO:
Once the credit memo is successfully posted in QBO, apply the credit to the applicable invoice / or any open invoice/s
7. Applying Credit Memo in CW: This process must be done after you apply the credit memo in QBO. Go to Finance>Invoice Search and follow the steps below.
Search the Invoice # mentioned to apply the credit memo into and enter.
Scroll down to get to the “+ Credits and Payments” and select the + sign.
Click the dropdown button on the “Apply a:” and select “Credit”. Note: If the customer has another unapplied credit memo, a prompt box will appear, select the credit memo you created.
Click Save
As part of a QC measure when doing Agreement invoicing it is Stride best practice to compare the last 2 months of agreement invoices to the current month to check for any large variances.
You can create a pivot table for this information by following these steps:
Finance > Invoice Search >
Leave Open/Close blank
Change the date to custom (Ex: 12/1/23 to 2/1/24)
Change invoice type to agreement
Export to excel or google sheets file
Change the date column to short date format.
Create a pivot table from the spreadsheet
Company names as rows
Date as columns
Invoice Total as sums

Some MSP clients want to create down payment invoices. This allows them to create an invoice in CW that is mapped to deferred revenue on the GL. Once an actual invoice is created, it will be matched against the downpayment invoice in CW and the revenue will be recognized in the GL in QBO.
